An acoustic song about the death of Ben's ex-mother in law.
Irony has returned to the web. More or less.
Story behind the song
Ben should be represented on here somewhere, right? This song was produced by Rob (who later added the background vocal as well). Brian did some producing on it... but since Rob had ultimate control, Brian's suggestions were taken out.
This was one of three Ben solo songs Rob recorded. The song's good... but it just wasn't "Irony."
Lyrics
I tied my hair back so you'll recognize me
I know you're holding on to say goodbye
You asked us to celebrate your life, and we will
I know you're strong, holding on...
But don't you shed a tear for me
I still remember your laughter
And all the things you would say
And from here everafter, it'll be ok
"Where shall you lie?" and she said...
"On top of the world"
"Where shall you lie?" and she said...
"On top of the world"
We made it in time and now you should leave
It's time for new beginnings, although it feels like the end... for me... for you... for all
Still photography, cigarettes and coffee remind me of you...
I still remember your laughter
And all the things you would say
And from here everafter, it'll be ok
"Where shall you lie?" and she said...
"On top of the world"
"Where shall you lie?" and she said...
"On top of the world"
