Story behind the song

Lamb of God, once again, speaks to one of the battles I had to go through. 
I couldn't understand why a God who created this universe, the visible from 
the invisible, would go through what He did for me... He could've just said 
"I've had enough of this!" snapped His fingers, and started this whole mess over!

But He didn't - because His plan had been put into place... before the foundation 
of the world. He knew that 2000 years later I (and you) would be born - and that 
we would need Him. The God, who created this world (and man) went through 
the beatings, the mockery, the spitting, His beard pulled out by the handful, the lies, 
all of it - without complaint... because He knew we would come along 2000 years later.
