Story behind the song

Wake Up was written after reading in the Bible one morning.  I came across the scripture in Ephesians 5:14, which says:
     "Wake up, O sleeper, 
      rise from the dead, 
   and Christ will shine on you."

My initial reaction was, "How is this not a song?"  As a began to write the verses, I realized how true the scripture is the world, and even as part of my own testimony.  There are many who are living just as though they are asleep and oblivious to the truth.  Growing up, I wasn't a Christian.  I wasn't "for" God or "against" Him... I didn't care either way.  Once I realized the Truth, it was like my eyes were open and the light bulb went off.  It was really like I had been asleep and was now awake.
