She Hurts A Lot (Compromise Part 2)
Texas boogie ala ZZ Top style...
Progressive Alternative Country Rock from Deep in the Heart of Texas.
is a place where the sign reads, "No Boots Required".
Story behind the song
I wanted to write a record based on a charactor who's "game" is a little off. This is a follow-up to the song "With A Disguise or Two".
Lyrics
SHE HURTS A LOT (Compromise Part 2)
-VERSE 1-
Headin' for trouble, got her in my sights
Too late to turn back now, it'll be alright
First I must warn you, it's been awhile
Since I laid my eyes on a woman, who could kill me with her smile
-Pre-
I must be cursed with an affection for tough love
Heaven help me... I'm about to get roughed up
-CHORUS-
The sky opened up with a mighty roar, all creation let loose
Once again I'm over my head and she won't accept a truce
I had been such a good boy; I thought I was due a deuce
A godsend she is not, matter of fact, she hurts a lot
-VERSE 2-
This girl is a sadist, angel eyes, but, a devils kiss
Her preference is bodily harm, hidden by her charm
With a disguise of her own, I was thinkin' sweet
If not shackled I'd tip my hat, for she pulled the wool over me
-PRE 2-
I'll admit it's a lot to endure, but, there in lies a prize
Thirsting from such a dry spell I had no choice, but, to compromise
-CHORUS-
The sky opened up with a mighty roar, all creation let loose
Once again I'm over my head and she won't accept a truce
I had been such a good boy; I thought I was due a deuce
A godsend she is not, matter of fact, she hurts a lot
