Story behind the song
I wrote the lyrics for this six years ago - actually, they weren't even intended to be lyrics, but the rhyming scheme gives it a hip-hop feel. It's a song about feeling old before your time.

Man I’m tired, but the night’s still young; My bones are weary yet life’s barely begun. I scarcely exist and I'm seriously pissed At the world and my life and everything I’ve missed, ‘Cause tonight I’m alone with my memories and thoughts; Feeling old before my time, best ones have passed me by. And the record that’s playing is just what I’m saying: Picks out the highs from the low; seems they no longer make them. God I must be down to look up at those lows; I guess that’s nostalgia: the tell-tale smell of roses. As the days roll on, I wonder what went wrong, When I gave up caring, when I started feeling numb. If these are the best days, I’m dreading those to come. As of now I’m dying; seems the good life’s been and gone.
