Howdy. I am Katherine Donovan, and I've been playing guitar for about two years now. I've been singing since age four and I've been writing music for about four years. My "band" has one member, which is me, and I play guitar and I sing. I play my original music and i also perform covers of songs by Rilo Kiley, the Postal Service, Damien Rice, The Cure, Ben Folds, Pefdro the Lion, and many more.

Story behind the song
I finished writing the music for the song the day that I parted ways with my now ex-boyfriend. The song has nothing to do with our break-up (excluding the title) but the events of that day fueled me to finish the song.
Lyrics
The Flight of the Bird -Katherine Donovan An all-too-familiar formula is cast aside Maybe doors will appear and offer a new direction But the destination is still the same Yet I’m still glad I came Are you glad that you came? Modifying endings to coincide with the actual outcome Like erasing my hypothesis at the end of the experiment To make it appear as if I was right along So afraid to be wrong Pride, let me be wrong Subtle insinuations rescue us from certain death Dispersed sporadically to avoid recognition In the minefield of a life we live Let us look at the positive Have we abandoned the positive? Or has it abandoned us? Follow the trail of scattered papers Play that tape again Find something that will remind me why I am I’ll open that dusty volume Crack it open and find a line that’ll move you Maybe we can laugh in the face of the past We won’t be the last No, not the last Follow the trail of scattered papers Play that tape again Follow the trail of scattered papers Find something that will remind me why I am I’ll open that dusty volume Crack it open and find a line that’ll move you Maybe we can laugh in the face of the past We won’t be the last No, not the last
