About Anubis Field Anubis Field formed in December of 1999, on the verge of the millenium. In an underground bunker, inside Sioux Falls, S.D., ideas came to fruition, melodies became reality, riffs were plotted out, a new style was born............Anubis Field then, was; Space Jaxson-Vocals, Guitar, Jim Larson-Guitar, Lance Jeschke-Bass, Scott Peterson-Drums. First show was at JAMZ, of all places. Known as a dance club, local promoter Cornell Costa started doing shows there because there was really no place else. Years of playing shows and practicing constantly, styles were honed, and cosmic overtones could be heard. "We started hearing this ghost audio, in our studio downtown. You could hear somone doing a guitar solo, when there was no solo being played." says Space Jaxson.,"It made for some pretty special material." Thoughts of a record were bounced around. "We thought it would be cool to go to Smart Studios in Madison, WI. and record some songs. Our style was starting to come together, and we were practicing quite a bit.......like everyday. So it was polished, performance wise. We had just recruited Craig Bonynge to do the drumming, and we kind of rushed him into it, but don't get me wrong, it turned out fine for a first release." At that point, Lance Jeschke broke off to go on his own mission called, ProtoSun. Scott Peterson moved to bass, Craig Bonynge rocked the tubs, and it was on. Continuing to play shows, writing new material, just kind of wore on the band. "Nothing happened with the disc." says Jaxson,"No marketing, no advertising. Just playing shows and getting frustrated. Looking back, I put a lot of pressure on myself." Then in the spring of 2003, the band faded out. No public announcement made., or final show, just done..............but are they?
