We're two guitarist/singer/songwriters from Cooperstown NY, and we both write mostly acoustic songs about life, politics, girls, whatever. For the most part, Allan is on singing duty, and I (Dan) do the guitars, but sometimes I do backup vocals, and he does rythym guitar, or whatever else we feel like.

Story behind the song
This time, I (Allan) actually feel like writing a song description. Mainly because Dan's typing (and Allan is a big asshole). f*** you Dan. (Shut up monkey). OK. It's about realizing that maybe what you see and become attached to in someone else is really just their favorable reaction to you, and in essence, to become attached to these things you are seeing, is the same as becoming attached to yourself. Hence the narcissis reference; a young boy in greek mythology who fell hopelessly in love with his own reflection. This topic was brought to the fore front of my mind by a line from Harold Pinter's "Betrayal", in which Jerry is hitting on his best friends wife, and becomes fixated not just with her beauty, but specifically, the way she is looking at him. (I'm suing for carpal tunnel syndrome. CRAMPS OH GOD THE CRAMPS).
