Story behind the song
One interesting note is that the Spink Cafe mentioned in the song is a real cafe in the town of Spink, South Datkoa. Pictures of the cafe are used on Hallmark greeting cards. Spink boasts a population of about 24 but I think they counted all of Larry Bright's horses to come up with that number. There's nothing there but the cafe so if you go there don't blink!
Lyrics
Monday is such as drag ‘cause my boss is a nag. Friday night, I’ll come alive Me and my baby, We’ll be dancing all night. Fat frog Friday night! Fat frog Friday night! Fat frog Friday night! Me and my baby? We’re doin’ all right. We’ll jump in my Chevrolet. Head out to the Spink Café. Raise up a glass of beer The whole dam crowd Will raise this cheer! Fat frog Friday night! Fat frog Friday night! Fat frog Friday night! Me and my baby? We’re doin’ all right. There’s nobody for miles around. So you can let your hair down. Everything will be so fine. Me and my baby, We’ll cuddle up tight. Fat frog Friday night! Fat frog Friday night! Fat frog Friday night! Me and my baby? We’re doin’ all right.
