Two acoustic tunes (with some other instrumentation on Sunshowers) that are distinct, yet complementary compositions.

Acoustic Guitar, Rock, Country
I've played guitar for 30 years. Dabble on piano, bass and other instruments. I also sing. I'm a big fan of a wide variety of music from James Taylor to Buddy Holly to RUSH to Stevie Ray Vaughn to Ray Charles to Billy Joel to Alan Jackson to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. My playing has been more focused on the James Taylor/Harry Chapin/Jim Croce as well as country music on acoustic, and Classic Rock on electric and acoustic.

Story behind the song
Sunshowers is an intro I wrote in 2001 to a song (Sparkle Shoes) I'd written around 1987, but never seriously recorded. The name Sparkle Shoes was added to the 1987 tune in reference to my then 2 year old daughter's glitter encrusted gym shoes. Originally, Sparkle Shoes was an early stab at writing a stylistically similar tune to the Michael Hedges music I was listening to. Michael is known for alternate tunings and harp guitar, an instrument that is part standard 6 string, part individually tuned bass strings (like a harp). But Michael played tunes on standard 6 strings with the low strings tuned down to D, C and beyond. Sparkle Shoes was originally written in CGDDAD. (Standard tuning being EADGBE) When I rediscovered this song, I felt it sounded better tuned a whole step up to DAEEBE. An odd tuning I simply retuned to and began trying to find melodies in.
