Lyrics
Seven Woes Verse 1: You love to be called "teacher" You take the honored places Yet you condemn my children And never see their faces. They bend beneath your load You burden them with grief You quote the law and prophets But your words bring no relief. You shut heaven's door With rules to handle sin You know you're not invited So no one else can enter in! Chorus: Hypocrites! Viper's brood! Pharisees, you blinded fools! Your hearts are far from me Your yeast in hypocrisy You testify against yourselves But you don't see How can you escape hell? Only through Me........ Woe to you! Woe to you! Verse 2: You give a gift of spices While your greed has made you fat You swallow down a camel While straining at a gnat. You kill wise men and prophets Then decorate their graves You flaunt your high position But in truth you are just slaves. You neglect my mercy When you know to do it all Better you drown in the depths Than you cause one child to fall. Verse 3: You travel a great distance To convert a man but then You make him twice a son of hell By teaching him your sin. You are like whitewashed tombs Like a dirty dish and cup Your actions mimic righteousness While corruption fills you up. Ending: Who is the greatest among you? You don't see. Who is exalted before you? The least of these.... If your eyes would open You would see Turn your hearts and understand Come to Me!
