Deep, reflective, and thoughtful music. Searching for the deepest core of musical expression.
My name is Kenneth Edward Keyn. I am simply a musician. I strive to understand the deeper things that music has to offer. I am a composer of deep, rich, and expressive music. I am classically trained, but I explore a plethora of genres and styles. I specialize in orchestral, choral, and small ensemble work. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and Composition from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon. I am the primary co-composer on the iPhone game Trenches. I am a long standing member of OverClocked ReMix, where I am featured on multiple album releases and individual arrangements.

Story behind the song
Written for my uncle Frank's (Corky) 59th Birthday. This is the fourth piece of the first five-piece set of "Birthday Songs" that I've written. Each piece is a duet (with one exception) between an Oboe (which represents myself) and an instrument that represents the person for whom the song was written (usually an instrument the person plays). Each piece follows a ternary form (A|B|A') in which the middle section consists of the main duet. This particular piece was originally written for Oboe and Alto Saxophone, but I could not get the sax to sound right, so I had to switch it to Bb Trumpet.
