This is another song that has been inserted more for the sake of a story line. However, there does seem to be some ground for it through the Bible. Revelation speaks of a one-world government. Not only that, but of a one-world religion. Revelation also speaks of how for a time people will not believe the end of the world could be near. One might call it “blissful ignorance”. However, the singer is familiar with Biblical prophecy. He knows what prophecy says is coming, and yet things seem so perfect in the moment. That is where the chorus for this song comes from.
Lyrics
Paralyzing fear we live.
Freedom's rights we'd gladly give
If we're promised safety in exchange.
New world leader save us all. [Revelation 6:2, 13:7]
Chaos turned to marshal law.
“Peace and safety,” the whole world cries. [1 Thessalonians 5:3]
Doesn't it seem strange that we are falling away?
Twelve by twelve by thousand strong
Singing their revival song [Revelation 7:3-8, 14:1-5]
“Open and receive this message – gospel truth”.
So I join this great rebirth.
Spread the message through the earth.
But “peace and safety” - and the world will die.[Revelation 7:3-8, 14:1-5]
Doesn't it seem strange that we are falling away?
I no longer know what to say.
I know this world is dying.
Just wish I could say that it's better that way.
This piercing noise you hear - the sound of deafening silence
Is the sound of the Heaven above in its
Calm before the storm of judgment. [Revelation 8:1]
Doesn't it seem strange that we are falling away?
Doesn't it seem strange that we are falling away?
Is there nothing we can say now? We are falling away.
Is there nothing we can do now? We are falling away.
