Lyrics
"We must all be made alike. Not everyone born free and equal as the constitution
says, but everyone made equal...a book is a loaded gun in the house next door.
BURN IT."
in modern America society has changed for the better,
whether or not you agree, fire is used predominantly/
to ensure and guarantee, the protection of our society,
turn all books into debris, by a government issued decree/
we're more than happy, to watch our wall sized TV’s,
and why go so slowly, when we can go at high speeds/
proud to serve society, because I’m a firefighter of fame,
ironically I start the fires, instead of putting out the flame/
we instantly proclaim, that individuality should be tamed,
lately, I’m ashamed, Clarisse helped me see emptiness/
I was ambitionless, but I was saved by her adventurousness,
in death her thoughts dwelled on my mind with effectiveness/
~HOOK~
O Romeo, Romeo! Where fore art thou Romeo?
-- Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 33)
O villain, villain, smiling, dammed villain
-- Hamlet (I, v, 106)
I had condescended, the life which I originally intended,
she had me comprehend, this life is not just splendid/
So I have ended it, I want a new life to acquire,
with new desires, I read the books I hid from the fire/
An un-proud firefighter, I hid them in an a.c. vent,
Life has little relevance, with literature it seems relentless/
I'm full of intense, emotions for all of nature and life,
Chief Beatty lied, so the hypocritical b*** died/
There is no time; my wife has even turned on me,
Only Faber believed, in opposing censorship endlessly/
Helping only secretly, gave me the green bullet earpiece,
To help me release, from the past and run towards peace/
~HOOK~
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
--John 14:27
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
--1 Corinthians 13:6
Chased by the hound, ran to the river and faked to drown,
Didn't make a sound, but an interesting group I found/
I was astounded; they fought what the government created,
A society vacated, with our thoughts and beliefs deflated/
fire had incinerated, truth the book people have in their mind,
Memories to remind, them of the literature that is mankind/
And philosophy combined, I see how they’re intertwined,
But for now confined, within the back of our mind entwined/
Until we can find the time, to introduce knowledge to society,
Enemy jets of propriety, obliterate the city without piety/
Rebuild the debris, change back to knowledge inevitably,
Knowledge eventually, wins over ignorance in every society/
