Story behind the song
Originally the beginning theme came into my head through the character of Lex Luther. However, when I decided to record the song I was very frustrated and the song quickly morphed into an entirely new theme, one that changed often and had more oddities. Often transforming from soft and complex to broad and triumphant to dark and eerie and back again. The triumphant portions represent his intellect, his political power, and his emotional drive. The other parts reveal his internal pain and emotion, such as his feelings towards his father. Due to the frustration inherent in Lex's character, I decided it was likely fitting to keep the song as is, and hence the song became entitled "Frustrated Lex."
