Story behind the song
To create a bridge between liturgical and contemporary. The text is traditional, but I also added a trope (solo line) on the last Lord have mercy section that refers back to blind Bartimaeus' crying out in Mark 10:49 where we get the text of the Kyrie from

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy. Trope is: Open my eyes to see, your mercy pour down on me, so I might be yours for eternity.
