Eutychus Falling is a four-man rock band playing a mix of original and cover songs. Their sound is a blend of alternative and blues-rock with influences like Train, Live, Creed and 3 Doors Down. True to their midwestern upbringing in the Chicagoland area, Eutychus Falling entertains their fans by simply playing great down-to-earth quality rock music. Their music is authentic, passionate, true rock with a conscience. The band's members are dedicated to sharing themselves through creative and quality songwriting. Once you've heard their songs they'll stay with you and keep you coming back for more. The members of Eutychus Falling have been playing music most of their lives. Josh Campbell (lead guitar) and Brian Weber (lead vocals, guitar) serve as the songwriters in the band and have been collaborating on music for over 9 years. As the band's wordsmith and founder, Weber has written over 100 original songs. Drawing on his personal relationships and life experience the songs resonate with listeners as they explore love, loss, faith and the questions we all have about life. Campbell and Weber write the majority of EF's songs together utilizing the special chemistry they have as a songwriting team. Josh Jahn (bass, vocals) and Brian Walker (drums) round out the rhythm section and complete the cinergy needed in any successful band. They have most recently played in the bands Seed and Inaccurate Conception respectively. Eutychus Falling has been writing music and playing clubs, bars and festivals in the Chicago area since 2001. They love to play live and crowds respond well to their music. The band released a six-song demo in February 2004 and released their first full length CD in April 2005.

Story behind the song
I loved this song right off when Josh played the rough track for me. I played around with it for awhile to come up with a melody and words. The chorus came pretty quick and then the verses came along to support it. This song sort of evolved and I like how it developed into the marionette imagery of a guy being controlled by a woman in a relationship. This wasn't inspired by anything I was going through personally but I felt it was a topic many people could identify with and it's just what the music spoke to me on this one... We play this as a full band live and it is one of our better songs in my opinion... a lot of movement in the guitar and different parts to it so it doesn't get stale.... however, as much as I like the full band version of it I prefer the original acoustic version of it Josh C played for me because you can hear the movement in the guitar more clearly in my opinion...
Lyrics
I was helpless when you found me here Curled up in a pile on a chair And it wasn't so long ago you dressed me up told me where to go You pulled the strings to make me talk and you knew that I couldn't walk away You took me in and made me feel secure Now I know your motives weren't so pure Cause it wasn't so long ago you dressed me up told me where to go You pulled the strings to make me talk and you knew that I couldn't walk away I don't need your kissin' no more And I don't even miss you no more And you don't even listen no more Just pressure to perform I don't need your sighin' no more And I don't need your cryin' no more And I don't need your lyin' no more I'm headin' out the door Strings are cut and I am free at last This puppet show is closed and in the past But it wasn't so long ago you dressed me up told me where to go You pulled the strings to make me talk and you knew that I couldn't walk away
