Prometheus was the god that rebelled against Zeus and gave the humans fire. This song is called "Prometheus", not neccessarily because it rebels against a set style, but because it rebels against itself. You'll see.

Hey everyone! Welcome to my SoundClick band page. I'm Evan Barnes, the guy behind Hybrid Sphere, and I'm one of only two monarchs of Spoiler Nation (more to come on that in the futurrrre). I'm still developing my style and learning music theory, so don't be surprised when my style varies from song to song. This music project of mine has been going on since I was about 13 (now I'm 20), so a lot of the music on here is from years ago! My style has changed since then. Regardless, I hope you can find something that pleases you (in whatever way you want) while you're here!

Story behind the song
I'm not really sure I know what motivated me to write this song. Well, I take my best guess. This song arose during my spring break. First, I started out by just messing around on my keyboard. I found a cool bass line. I built a drum line onto that. And then, I came across a cool sound effect. And so the song began. I went from there, adding violins and other things, and just taking my time, enjoying making this sort of DnB variant. And then, it hit me: I knew what this song was about. It had sort of been conforming to some sort of standard. So, I realized what to make this song about. Rebellion. I rebelled against the DnB style by transitioning to a more laid-back and dark style by using a Matrix quote. This quote symbolizes a lot of things for me. It shows the conformity of our world. It shows how the schools treat us by giving us impossible amounts of work, keeping us up until midnight or later, getting us to school at 7:35, and then they wonder why we are all heading for nervous break-downs! GRRRRRRRRR....... We might as well be in the Matrix, enslaved for the school system's (and the world's) use! THAT is what the Matrix quote symbolizes, for me. And then, the song transfers to a darker, more laid-back part. But then, we get the first taste of freedom as the pad synth moves up the scale, becoming a pad and a melody. To me, this is myself, getting a breath of fresh air, and realizing that freedom is coming in the form of a season - summer. From then on, nothing can bring me down. And so the song ends, happy, floating and free. It rebels against itself. A sort of Hybrid-Prometheus. :D
