"Firm, determined, unwavering, unshakeable belief," one word - Resolute. A band with a clear meaning and purpose; captivating the listener through the vehicle of music. Resolute’s songs are written out of life experiences. The heartaches, trials and challenges of living in a world that has lost its moral compass; something everyone, young or old, can relate to. Resolute was born in late 2004 from Sudbury based guitar duo Juice & Jesse (Justin Carrière and Jesse Prud’Homme), who became known in the city after the release of their self-produced instrumental debut album. They took their creative musical arrangements further when bass player Shawn Arseneau and drummer Robert Harris joined the band. Resolute evolved into a diverse four piece group who now strive to bring forth their own catchy original material. Previous to forming, each member had experience in Sudbury’s live music community. Since the merge, they’ve performed at popular establishments and festivals in the city including youth rallies, community events and benefit concerts to raise money for mission teams that help the needy in the Third World. These gigs earned the band a solid reputation as musicians who are willing to make a difference. The group’s music is difficult to categorize. Influences such as Coldplay, Our Lady Peace and Dave Matthews are what makes their sound so unique. The music is a blend of rock and alternative based pop. With enough songs to record their first CD, the group hopes to hit the studio later this year. From reflective acoustic sets to full out driving ballads, Resolute loves to deliver music that seizes the heart and mind with a positive message.
