Story behind the song
My own inauthenticity
Lyrics
Be Who You Is! Jeremiah 17:9 The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it? Cho: Be who you is, ‘cuz if you ain’t who you is, you is who you ain’t. 1. Lookin’ good, avoidin’ lookin’ bad while lookin’ good. We’re pretending, not pretending to pretend while we’re pretending. 2. The heart is deceitful above all things did you know? Scripture makes it clear, it’s a battle thru all our years. Grace this flaw can erase. ” Ed Anderson, 2004

Lovin this song, and listening to it over and over with a big smile on my face. Great lyrics, I could sing this to so many people, probably why I love it so much! Love your groove on this tune, reminds me of J.J. Cale a bit or even the bounce to it reminds me of Tah Mahal. Great production....5 stars all the way, and...gonna have to add it to my station, thanks for sharing your talent here! ;) ~strummergurl~
