my first reviewer called it "a foundation for a dark, shadowy rock opera that someone would listen to while drinking a bottle of wine and contemplating jumping off a bridge". she wouldn't tell me whether or not they'd jump.

Lyrics
Not long before your skin falls off in flakes of gold and you’ve turned cold And I’ve become as frail as the branches that wear flickering lights for Jesus Christ. We’ll no longer look pretty on runways of cities. You’ll crumble like litter in me. I’m falling away so something else can take shape. All is calm; all is dead in the holy silent night. The nails can come out of our hands but the rust has moved to our limbs. At gunpoint love on a stolen stranger Your lips trembled for my weakness, not yours Ironic how your mouth was your silencer Still you held me like you’d never shot before. We burned out, we were cut out of heaven We’re the holes in paper snowflakes We’re light years dead We made temporary sense. I’m falling away so something else can take shape. All is calm; all is dead in the holy silent night. The nails can come out of our hands but the rust has moved to our limbs. If Christ had come again I might have been reborn. But I’ll find a new woman, One whose lies haven’t oxidized. I’ll pour your perfume on her thighs And I’ll close my eyes. I’ll drink from the bottle of wine We left at the bedside But no ceremony will put the blood back in the body Our sweat will evaporate and reincarnate in my sleep Goodnight my beautiful messiah I’ll rest in heavenly peace beside you.
