Story behind the song
I had to create "political art" for my Humanities class so I wrote a song. It's about how people expect the government to always step in for every stupid little thing. I performed it with just an acoustic guitar for the class and forgot my own words a couple times, but the class loved it anyway.
Lyrics
Help me because I cannot help myself Don’t need the burdens of responsibility Tell me how and when to tear it all apart I want to get back to my pseudo tranquility Reach out your hands I need something to hold I’ve blinded myself You’ve got to make my life unfold TV helps me when I lose my way It gets me back on the straight and narrow road The box of possibility shines greater than the sun Its rays break my mind – A rigor mortis mode Reach out your hands I need something to hold I’ve blinded myself You’ve got to make my life unfold
