A song about freedom and oppression.
punk political social roc
Artist picture
A solo punk band with songs ranging from politics to social issues to evolutionary biology.
Lacking any real musical talent, I decided to use Punk-o-Matic to create some generic punk backgrounds to the various songs I had written. Recorded at low quality through a computer microphone, the songs are not musical masterpieces but the lyrics are still strong. Give it a listen, you might enjoy it.

Lyrics
Solid and complete, seeds of a new generation Harvested and wrought for our rumination Packaged with the others in uniformity Protective seal prevents escape from captivity A prison of peers without habeas corpus Bonds of the innocent, protests worthless Wide world seen from a skewed perspective Awaiting what fate has made rejected Like turtles hiding from a vicious predator These slaves on shelves sold to creditors Exchanged consent-free to alien buyers The system suppresses any and all defiers But for a glimmering moment, often unspoken Ripped and torn the plastic cage is broken The air so fresh, it’s almost choking But razorblades piercing make freedom just a token Sunflower Seed, don’t abandon me Sunflower Seed, filled with misery Sunflower Seed, rotten to the core Sunflower Seed, I don’t know you anymore! Nothing more than a dismal memory And when I look at you candidly A portrait faded for none to see Discarded shells of a sunflower seed Sunflower Seed, don’t abandon me Sunflower Seed, filled with misery Sunflower Seed, rotten to the core Sunflower Seed, I don’t know you anymore! Sun-Sun-Sun Sunflower Seed
