Only the strong survive is a phrase often used by many, but can only be attributed to a few. Holding true to its meaning it's only strength that can carry you through a struggle, but no one can relate to this more than Queens native DL. Born and raised Dwayne Clark, he fought his way through many trials and tribulations of everyday life, with only one thing in his heart and soul, to make music. Since DL was a young boy, his love for music has been his life. However, it didn't come easy to him. Since he became of age to claim his own identity, he had to strive to make it in the game of life. Unfortunately, like many other youths he found salvation in the streets. Ever4day became a constant hustle. A hustle to live, breathe and just exist. Growing up listening to music legends such as LL Cool J and Run DMC, DL knew in his heart that it soon would be his time to shine. Since the age of 14 when he rapped out his 1st verse 'Only the Strong Survive The Weak One's Already Fell', he felt compelled to write about his woes through his lyrics and had it embedded in his brain that he would excel far past the pain. As years went on, it became more difficult to put his heart into his love because of many battles with life's realities. From personal hard times, constant run-ins with the law, to seeing friends succumb to the violence of the streets. In 1996, DL decided to take his dream to the next level. Instead of just becoming an artist, he wanted his own empire. He, along with his childhood friend John (J Dubb) Wallace, decided to start their own label. The two of them put their street and business knowledge to work and conceived the idea. Not long after, Triplebeam was born. It's a new day and age and the game has changed. Leaving the drama in the past, DL has regained full control of his life. Never more focused, DL is now ready to claim his mark in the music arena. Taking the world to a new plateau, DL is now prepared to get clubs jumping and systems pumping with his sound of music.
