Story behind the song
Two years ago Tommy was pulled over for speeding on the way to a Rick Derringer concert at the Club Tangiers in Akron Ohio. Ultimately after this stop by the Ohio State Patrol he was incarcerated for 2 weeks in the Heartland Behavioral Health Center and then transferred to the Tuskawarus County Jail for 2 weeks of solitary confinement..... all mind you without a trial or a hearing of any sort.... Yep... The train left and Tommy wasn't allowed to get off. They even incarcerated his guitar...... And we all thought that Constitutional Rights actually meant something in this country didn't we.........Ha...
Lyrics
I'm stranded in Ohio Walkin home from the county jail Been there 31 days for reflection But there's no one here to hear my tale...... It was Friday the 13th Dead straight up full moon Rick Derringer was playin' in Akron You know I know all his tunes I had a brand new used Camry Had the title in my hand I'd been jammin' the night before Crystal Mountain is killer fun band The cruise control was set As I rounded that right hand curve I was tokin' a killer green bud When I was clocked by the Ohio State Patrol He got my money and my stash You know I missed 'ol Ricky's show Did 31 days locked up for dust You know they just wouldn't let me go Well I'm stranded in Ohio Walkin home from the county jail Been there 31 day for reflection But there's no one here to hear my tale.....
