Sometimes
When you’re alone with solitude for a friend
Wishing for things you might have had
Your loneliness is a cold empty place
That leaves you feeling trapped
Time slows down and you feel the weight of hours
That press hard in the thoughts in your head
And you know things must be done to make your life move forward
But you feel your aspirations have all fled

Sometimes when I stop to think of circumstances
That the have shaped the world I now live in
And it takes my breath away when I look at all the changes
And have tried to understand what they all mean
I welcome night that’s a time I find respite
When I can dream myself to another place
In here your by my side I see a new truth in your eyes
And the feel of love in your embrace
