Tropical folk-rock with swing and Latin influences.
Chris Hattingh is a singer/songwriter living in Sarasota, Florida. Heavy Humidity is Chris's first solo release with vocals. The album can best be described as tropical folk-rock with Latin and swing influences. The music is designed to make you feel GOOD while at the same time conjuring up images of surf, sand and sun. If you've ever sipped a rum drink while sailing on the water in a balmy climate (or wished you had) this CD is for you!

Story behind the song
This song was inspired by a trip to the island of Jamaica
Lyrics
Verse 1: Won’t you come to the other side of the island my friend? I can show you a magical place by the water...it’s Heaven Once you see it I know that your heart will be happy again You will find everything that you need when you live in the island way Chorus: You got to be livin’ it up On the secret side of the island You got to be livin’ it Verse 2: Ol’ Jeppe & Ziggy be wailin’ & jammin’ down at the Love Shack Where the girls are so fine you can scarcely believe it…oh yeah And the Red Stripe is flowing & everyone’s dancing & singing You can’t miss the party it goes on forever and ever Chorus: You got to be livin’ it up on the secret side of the island (Red Stripe) You got to be livin’ it up in the place with no wrongmovers (No dread) You got to be livin’ it up in the land of reggae music Bridge: And when you sail across that blue lagoon (On a sunny summer afternoon) Just take a swig of rum & look up to the skies (You’ll see the world through different eyes) Chorus: You got to be livin’ it up on the secret side of the island (Red Stripe) You got to be livin’ it up in the place with no wrongmovers (No dread) You got to be livin’ it up in the land of reggae music (High times)
