blackmetal progressive rock quarry mantis tim blake
Electronic tinged progressive rock with occasional elements of black metal.
My name is Tim Blake, and Quarry Mantis is the name of my one-man musical project. Quarry Mantis has no set-in-stone style, but currently it consists of electronics, progressive rock and dashes of black metal and others. I like to think my music is carried on its fresh ideas, and I try to be as enthusiastic as possible when approaching the music making process. Please enjoy my stuff. ;)

Story behind the song
Motivated by a desire to dominate the radio, it is about love and desire and all these really deep things...and it rules.
Lyrics
You Used To Say As I walk down by the water, For another day, I am reminded of the words you used to say, In this city full of smoke, Where the skies are grey, I am reminded of the words you used to say, You used to say, That I would be the one to make it, But for yourself, You said they’d never change at all, Back through the years I look, I can see, You were running away, Now I’m resting, Sitting on my deck of sorrows, Thinking about the girl of joy, That I once knew, Who used to say about this world, That we might break it, If we chose the wrong thing to do, You used to say, That I would be the one to make it, But for yourself, You said they’d never change at all, Back through the years I look, I can see, You were running away, C'mon now, Yeah, whoa, yeah, whoa, Yeah, whoa, yeah, whoa, I'm just remembering, What you used to say, Looking through the years, Across another day, I am reminded of the words, You used to say, You used to say, That I would be the one to make it, But for yourself, You said they’d never change at all, Back through the years I look, I can see, You were running away, Yeah, whoa, yeah, whoa, Yeah, whoa, yeah, whoa, You used to say, That I would be the one to make it, But for yourself, You said they’d never change at all, Back through the years I look, I can see, You were running away…
