Story behind the song

"What motivated this song? Lyrically it was a combination of two things: my obsession with philosophy and the 'meaning of life' and the Sci-Fi series of Arthur C. Clarke's "Space Odyssey". The title track and spoken words are a kind of tip of the hat, so to speak, to Dave Bowman's famous line in 2010...'It's something wonderful.'  Thus, the song title and the lyrics just flowed after that. As far as the sound, Richard and I worked on this as I had a beginning melody to begin and he modified it, and laid down the lead guitars and we had the song we wanted." - Trannon

“I believe Trannon had the idea for this song and we built around that idea. This is a Pink Floyd influenced song, but has an originality all it’s own. I love the darker chord structure throughout the verses, and then the more positive chord progression for the chorus. It really highlights the lyrics. I tried to incorporate a lot of melody for this song. This has to be one of my favorite songs we’ve recorded. I used my ’91 Fender Strat Ultra guitar to get that David Gilmour sound”. - Richard
