“Guaro”is a nick name for strong liquor in Latin America, which is an appropriate name for this up and coming Dade County latin rapper; As he says “Mi estilo te quema el pecho, mijo!”- Translation: “My style burns ya chest, son!”. Besides one of the tightests flows to emerge in Spanish, Guaro’s lyrical content is set to be placed on par with- and even surpass- his English-language peers. The tracks on his up-coming mixtape have a wide range of themes on experiences Latinos and non-Latinos can relate to: On the old-school funk track “El Hustle” its about hustling to get loot to support your family (by any means necessary); On the heavy guitar sampled “Testigo” its about self reliance and being your own man; On the Mission Impossible-sampled “Jugando Escondite” its about females who play games behind their man’s back; And the theme song of his crew, Machetero Entertainment, is “Dale Machete”- a track that’s sure to hit in the clubs. About this last song Guaro states: “ “Dale Machete’ is our anthem, because the machete is a symbol of how hard Latin people work; No matter what Latin or Caribbean country you from, the machete is used to bring food to your family, also as a means of protection.” Guaro’s view on the emerging Latin Hip Hop scene is: “The only way people are going to respect Latin Hip Hop, Reggetton, etc. is if we earn that respect on our own terms, doing our thing, our way.” For more info contact MacheteroEnt@hotmail.com.
