A student of literature, many of the songs weave elements of myth, imagery and unique characters to bring the listener into his world. Lyrics
IF MY NAME WAS JOHN WAYNE by Chris Kent If my name was John Wayne Would you know who I am? How I walk, how I talk How I'm every man's man? If my name was Tom Wolfe Would you read what I wrote? Every word I scribbled down Every line, every note? Chorus: I'm not the one on your TV set Nor on your radio I'm just sittin' here waistin' away Too afraid to say hello If my name was Fred Astair Would you dance with me awhile? I'd make you tango, make you waltz Swing you high into the air Chorus If my name was Johnny Cash Could I sing in your band? Would you write me poetry? I'll Write you verses by hand Instr. Chorus If my name was Steve McQueen Could I break from your cell? Flap my wings and fly away Never look never tell? Chorus If my name was John Wayne Would you know who I am?
