Story behind the song
The draft of the song was written as a Valentine's Day present for Susan's husband David. It was rewritten and rerecorded over the internet by Susan and fellow song writer Kenny Hart. Peggy (Kenny's wife) and David really do make each of our respective days seem like Valentines Day. It's wonderful to be loved.
Lyrics
Valentine by Susan Cantey and Kenny Hart © 2004 Verse 1: I looked in the mirror this morning, And saw a man who is loved. Because he has lost at love before, He’ll always treasure it more. Chorus: When you’re near me, Every day is Valentine’s, Every moment is forever When I’m by your side, Though a cold wind is blowing Inside the fire roars, So much more than I hoped for, You are my valentine. Verse 2: As you look in my eyes tonight, You see a woman, who is loved, Because she has gone so long without, She knows what love is about. Repeat Chorus
