Written and recorded in a slow soft-rock style, It shows my anger at inequality, as demonstrated by six-figure chief executive salaries!

The name Cross Dresser for the band page came about because my mostly male collaborators were singing my female viewpoint lyrics! Story behind the song
Anger at the salery increase in 1995 for Cedric Brown, head of British Gas. I was only 14 at the time, but could already see how unequal and unfair society was. The lyrics originally centred on Cedric Brown, and as we were under Conservative government at the time, presented Labour in a positive light. I have since modified the lyrics to be about general fatcat salaries, and for reasons probably well-known, have removed the positive references to Labour.
Lyrics
There is no justice in this But I know that's just the way it is Two hundred and seventy thousand pounds ain't enough But look at all those people sleeping rough Chorus I just can't see why Young people should be left on the streets While the head of British Gas Indulges in these treats. He gets more than enough to satisfy his needs But not enough to satisfy his greed A pay in crease of seventy five per cent He thinks he's worth it, but we all know he ain't Chorus The showrooms cut to save the rent The safety checks by eighty nine per cent He ought to know by his age Not to cut workers' holiday time and wage Chorus x 3
