AMBULANZA was set up in 2000 by Maltese frontman Dr Mario. The band plays its own brand of modern funk called Paramedical Funk i.e. modern funk which is based on traditional funk guitars and rythymns blended with more modern approaches to music tehcno beats, house keyboards, 80's sythns, coarse Prodigy sounding moogs splashed with the odd rockish guitar riff and hip hop/ rap vocals. We tend to start a James Brown sounding track and end up with a raggea refrain or a red hot riff ending with a trance like dance beat. Our own website http://www.ambulanza.net

Story behind the song
The theme of the song is about the alienisation of humans in the world we have built about us. It has great lyrics with a positive human touch.
Lyrics
Something Out There : Dr Mario They built trees like boxes, like boxes made of stone, And they filled their grass with tarmac and the sound of motor drone. And a green light tells you when to move and a red light when to freeze, And they seem to have a hidden book of rules, And they can't do as they please. They like to build in straight lines and geometrical designs, And politicians speak in parables,so you can't read between the lines, And they crowd themselves into cities till there's no place to get around, But I a silent witness will not wither away without a sound. Never feel more like an alien than when I look up at the stars, There's a whole lot that's unknown as if we were standing behind bars. And as we cut Earth's zig zags into aesthetic lines and spheres, I feel the eyes of those up there watching waiting as they've done for years. Something out there, something in the air
