Mix Whitney Houston with Etta James a touch of Phyllis Hyman, a dash of Jill Scott, garnish it with a sprinkle of Angie Stone and a side of Anita Baker and you have Licorish... Joyce Licorish that is. Powerful, beautiful, sultry, soulful and that range... Lord have mercy!

Story behind the song
Mr. Congeniality was something I wrote after taking a hard look at all the “Mr. Rights” that my friends (and I) think they have found only to find out later on that he was just “Mr. RIGHT NOW!!” He dips in and out and has gotten what he wanted so now he is out of there... you know the story. Inevitably he is the one you fall for every time... so this is his story.
Lyrics
Mr. Congeniality Written by: Joyce Licorish Mr. Congeniality Joyce Licorish MISTER (Repeat 16x) CHORUS Mister Congeniality Took the best of me and set a sistah free Mister Congeniality Didn’t take you long to get over me Mister Congeniality Who’s your next conquest who could she be Mister Congeniality Confused the hell out of me and set a sistah free VERSE1 For so long kept my guard up to keep brothas like you out But I thought I saw I thought I saw Something different when I saw you seeing me I must admit you had me from your first glance I didn’t want to admit contemplating giving you a chance But what can I say CHORUS VERSE2 Momma told me that there would be brothas just like you hmm Slick tongued, sexy, conniving, cunning and soo smooth You get lost in the web of lies And that perfect touch Guess you’ve had your share of practice Making us fall for that juicy stuff Yeah you’re so tough You could sell ice to and Eskimo Had me wide open like a water hose And you were even patient I can’t believe it It took me a long time to give you what you wanted I thought you were worthy But woe is me Your formula was tried and true hmm Yeah you knew just what to do hmm CHORUS Ad Libs/Guitar Solo (To be Added Later)
