Story behind the song
This is one of my "running away from something"-numbers. The lyrics are like something Al Stewart could have written (way above my league of course....)! The music is heavier than most of my work!
Lyrics
VIOLET FLAME Foreign town, the wind is blowing tonight Autumn night, lots of trouble in sight I look to the left and I look to the right Nobodys here Ive got to beware Lonely man, running away from it all Desperate eyes, its easy to stumble and fall Theres so much at stake, I can hear the winds call Summer is gone Im moving on A violet flame, unable to tame A hard road to a place with no name Win or lose, it depends on the dice Lonely man, on thinning ice Southbound plane, flying away from the rain Touchdown Spain, and a postcard from Maine I look to the airport and back at the plane Nobodys here Ive got to beware
