Hey, My name is Mitch Lavin and I'm a guitar teacher/songwriter from Chicago. I've been playing guitar about 20 years and actually get to make my living with the instrument. I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to do what I do and I don't take it for granted. It's fun to take someone who has never held and instrument and turn them into a player. I consider it a life changing moment for them. I really just like writing and recording in my home studio and posting the songs for others to enjoy (I hope).

Story behind the song
Josh and I have started writing songs together back in March when Josh found my music on the internet and was interested in writing lyrics to my music. This song is a collaboration between the two of us. I wrote the music and sent it to him and he wrote the lyrics. I recorded the song with lyrics and this is our newest song together.
Lyrics
It was a fight to the bitter end And my heart can't prentend It made it out alright It felt like you took my soul Hung it out to dry Just to watch me die Just to see me cry It took forever but I found who I was before In a place where you can't hurt me anymore I can finally breathe I'm seeing glimpses of someone I'm not forced to be I can finally breathe I'm coming out on the other side A stronger version of me I can finally breathe I just want to be who I know I can be Someone you'll never see It ain't easy being chained up In a one-sided Kind of love Everytime you come up for air All that's ringing in your ears Is that you're not enough No you're never enough And everyone tries to knock you down And make you pay But I found the strength to get out of the way
