Lyrics
come close lean in closer I've got a confession my songs are all lies I never much liked you (at least, not at first) just wanted to be like you with your sharp teeth and your juggernaut heart mowing down everything in its way and pre-emptively (striking before I could get close) like the president and more paranoid than me and even the times when I cried I was always laughing a little inside I still remember the steam rising outside open window, and your eyes shifting side to side touching your face and looking around like a liar (but you were a good dancer) I found the letter that she sent it said you're leaving me she just wanted to know when and what's worse: the words were all spelled wrong and bubbly (purple pen, purple bruises on me) I've turned twisted and ugly oh, what's become of me? guilty hearts they glow in the dark how did you think you could hide your treachery from me? (I was onto you from the start) so now I'm set free I'm myself again only colder by several degrees
