Incredible instrumental piano music by Josh Brahm! He also records with guitar, bass and drums.
My name is Josh Brahm, I'm 21 and I've been playing music for 17 years. I play piano, guitars, bass and drums, so I usually record my music alone in my home studio. Most of my music is inspired by love and friendship, and the memories I have of growing up.

Story behind the song
Ever since I recorded that concert, I’ve wanted to re-record those songs. At the concert, I had a limited amount of time before the next concert began, so I was a little rushed. I also love this song, and I felt like the short version didn’t do it justice. I knew I wanted a longer, more melodic version, but I didn’t spend too much time arranging anything very specific before I recorded it. I just had a few ideas in the back of my head. I started the song very slow and melodic, with no hurry. I’d heard a pianist named David Teems play music like the beginning of this song, and I wanted something just as emotional. After I went through the progression a few times, around 3:30 through the song, I just started playing out of sheer passion. It was out of anger at moving so far from my dear friends in CA. (I recently moved to GA) And all I was thinking about was those wonderful times I had with the people there, and how they weren’t here anymore. After I was done, I really liked where the song had gone, almost completely improvised, but I wanted to try a few more takes. I recorded 2 clean takes after that, but when I listened to them all back later on in post production, I realized that although the other takes had a few cool things that I hadn’t done in the first take. the 1st was by far the best. Even though there are a few note mistakes and stuff, once again, passion means more to me than perfection. Ironically, while the first take of that song was the best, all 5 takes of the other song I tried to record that day would end up being scrapped. When I was editing it, the main thing I had to do was compress it. I am an “extreme” pianist. When I play soft, it is very soft. And when I play loud, well, you can imagine. The differences were so big though, that I was worried that people would turn up there speakers really loud to be able to hear the intro, and then suddenly it gets 20 decibels louder and I’ll annoy people more than anything. So I compressed without losing any sound quality. After EQ’ing it some, it was ready. I hope you enjoy it.
