When storms come up in a Christians' life there are two ways that the Lord can help: 1) rebuking/ calming the storm, or 2) protecting us during the storm. This song deals with that aspect of God's love towards us.

Story behind the song
My Dad who is also my pastor preached one Sunday morning about Jesus calming the storm on the Sea of Galilee-- that is when I came up with the idea behind this song.
Lyrics
Verse 1
Noah was a righteouss man.
He found favor with the Lord.
He alone was faithful
amidst a dying world.
One day God told Noah to build and ark-
a storm would come, but he'd be safe from harm.
Chorus
And whether you rebuke the storms that rise up in my life,
or simply calm my heart as they pass on by-
Oh Lord carry me through-- the eye of the storm.
Verse 2
The disciples were sailing
on the Sea of Galilee
when a great storm arose
while the Master lay asleep.
And they said, 'Master don't you care?!' was their plea.
And he just stood and simply calmed the sea.
Chorus
Bridge
And I know that there will be storms
that rise along the way,
but all I ask of you Lord
is lead me everyday.
And whether you rebuke the storms
or simply calm my heart
be my refuge.
And be my steadfast and sure,
and always lead me through-- the eye of the storm.
