One man recording the cobwebs of his mind; Shall we listen in?
One man singer-songwriter musician. Included here are songs written as far back as the late seventies, up to and including the present day. Four of the songs were recorded in the late 90's and make up an EP called Skies. Other albums include A Man Alone from 2002, and The World At Large from 2005. Since then, songs have been released singly as they've been completed. A new album is now available - Tales Of Love And Defiance (talesofloveanddefiance.com)

Story behind the song
Written in November 2002, the song was initially based around the melody. The whole thing took about two days to write, and about three or four days to record. This is a good example of how a competent recording can improve a so-so song. Playing it on just an acoustic guitar, it has none of the power or elegance that comes across in this version. The lyrics seem to be about a lonely relationship or the desolation we all feel sometimes, but I'm not really sure. I had no pre-conceived ideas or agenda, letting the words lead me instead of the other way around. Buy the CD!
Lyrics
Is it love or is it dreaming In the dead of night Is it love or is it dreaming In the dead of night I don’t know, I don’t know Is it love or is it dreaming In the dead of night Think you’re winning when you’re losing That’s the game you play Finders keepers losers weepers Throw your chance away Don’t let go, don’t let go Is it love or is it dreaming In the dead of night Stand alone inside a crowd The face of Everyman Standing out is not allowed Catch me if you can Oh no, oh no Is it love or is it dreaming In the dead of night Ask about the love we share When the world’s asleep Take the answer with some care If the pain’s too deep And it shows, yes it shows Is it love or is it dreaming In the dead of night
