***PLEASE NOTE THAT JAD no longer exists. The band is now STATE OF MAN**** The music known as JâD began in Atlanta during the summer of 2000 with a union of four established artists from separate successful outfits in the region. Each member brings a unique sound and style to the mix, which together has created one of the most powerful rock acts in the Southeast. JâD’s sound consists of sophisticated, melodic rock that delivers a slashing edge. The band’s music coupled with an incredibly powerful live show, have allowed them to take the Southeast music scene by storm; including winning multiple regional competitions, and developing a significant and devoted fan base. The band has been touring the Southeast in support of their debut full-length album (Lose Your Mind), and recently recorded an EP with Don McCollister (Sister Hazel, Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins). Story behind the song
This song adresses how dreams of our youth are often destroyed by failure, yet, people either find new strength and direction, or become bitter, spiteful and "come through to wicked fly"!
Lyrics
Where do you see yourself / in two to five maybe ten years time / happy and enjoying life or / miserable, methodically dying / much too rare the former / high hopes can fall from great heights / they burrow underneath and fester deep/ to poison the mind's larvae (chorus) slow wanes those good intentions / this will does not comply / descend some great dimension / come through to wicked fly (verse 2) Should you undergo this transition / will you recognize both sides / ignorance is bliss / but few can resist / when rage and anger fuel your pride / but the fortunate will find / there strength in time / and somehow learn to transcend / while others lose control / disappointment feeds their souls / bitter till the very end (chorus) (break down) Frustration and morality don't often coincide peacefully (2x) (chorus) {and we fall down}
