Never Live This Down Part I (Instrumental)
Instrumental to Part I of B.I.'s "Never Live This Down", from his solo project "When Hot Blood Runs Cold".
Straight up hip-hop production, funny stuff
The Cybertron Sound. Just what is that, one may ask? Ask the one who coined the term, and he'll tell you, it's a state of mind, a time and place that can't be recreated, a time to which people wish they could relive. When you hear it, you just know you're back in those times.
The collection of tracks you'll find here are bits and pieces of the The Cybertron Sound's greatest fan's take on the original creations,
for personal projects.
Just who is the man? No one knows; he goes by a ton of aliases. For the sake of simplicity, just call him Dr. Claw. Hardly anyone knows where he's really from, however it's safe to say he's a "Cybertron" native. Whatever the case, he's a man who seems to have a whole lot of time on his hands, enough to bring The Cybertron Sound to your home.
Story behind the song
This track, like the others of "When Hot Blood Runs Cold" is part of a collective narrative. In this track, B.I. tells how he fell for a girl, who later gets violated by a random attacker. B.I. reassures her, and swears revenge for the act -- which leads to part 2.
Track and lyrics were completed in 2000.
Lyrics
I first saw you when I thought I hit the lowest of the low
Left out in the cold with no idea on where to go
I didn't want to see anybody, and yet I wanted to see you
Snuck a glance, a peek or two, just to see what you'd do
Maybe it was the way you wore your hair, the look in your eyes
Your smile, or maybe the way the spats you wore clung to your thighs
Hold -- This is so unlike me, letting my eyes wander
I just went through hell with a girl, why should I even bother?
They can't all be that bad, I thought, but I'm scared to make a move
Screw it, where I'm at right now I've got nothing to lose
But before I could stand, you were already before me
With a smile that warmed me, my insides started to warn me
But I ignored it, as we talked I found out
That you and I had gone down the same somber route
You were unhappy, and I was the consummate loser
But together we were complete, and I knew the
transition from platonic love to romance would be inevitable
Took all the bad feelings I had about the past and let it go
With all the walks in the park and talks in the dark
We haven't even kissed yet and I'm givin' you parts of my heart
Now that I think of it, most physical contact was kept in check
Just the way we liked it, contrary to what some would expect
That all changed one night, when you suddenly kissed me, told me you missed me
Held me tight, then began to cry, I knew something wasn't right
What's the deal? What's up? What's goin on out there?
Who's doin' you wrong? Should I even care?
I sense wrongdoing near, evil presence in the air
As long as I'm here, the path'll be clear, no need to fear
Just come clean, and tell me, what's givin' you trouble
You know I'll always be out there to fix it on the double
I ain't gonna flip, so there's no need to hide
No need to cry, no need to hold it all inside
Intermission:
(B.I.):
What?! Why didn't you tell me..?
(Girlfriend):
I didn't want you to leave me...
(B.I.):
Man, eff that!
(Girlfriend):
That's not all... I might be... (in tears)
(B.I.):
Aw, naw, you might be -what-?!
(Girlfriend):
I might be... (fade back to song)
Oh, that's what it was? So that's what happened?
He won't get away with this, I promise you -- dammit!
Oh, no -- I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at this bastard
When I catch up with him, he's going straight in a casket
But that can wait for now, it's with you I'm concerned
Stay in my arms, never think that your love's being spurned
Right now, it really doesn't matter what the hell he did
He's goin' down -- I'll be damned if you have someone else's kid
I see the tears in your eyes, I can almost feel mine showin' too
Damn, I can't even begin to understand what you must be goin' through
I don't know what to do, now you move closer than ever before
Gettin' several shades of intimate with me ever so more
It must hurt you, that I seem so apprehensive about touchin' you
I can't erase the thought in my mind, what he had done to you
You realize that I don't want to take advantage of you
And no matter what happens from here on, dammit -- you know I love you
Words of the incident has spread to the street and to my classmates
Even Hinata asked me the other day about our last date
I've been mostly silent, and now I can't find you at all
You're not at home, you're not returnin' any of your calls
That settles it, I've gotta find out the identity
Of the person behind this crime, even if it's the end of me
Even my greatest enemy put all our beef on indefinite pause
Because she realized I'm fighting now for a more pertinent cause
Somebody's gonna pay for this
"Retaliation for this won't be minimal..."
(Scratch: Notorious B.I.G. "Somebody's Gotta Die")
(repeat x4)
Somebody's gonna pay for this --
there's no way in hell I'm gonna let him get away with this
Somebody's gonna pay for this --
something so sick and despicable in my eyes'll never be forgivable
Somebody's gonna pay for this --
