Loud, fast, somewhat melodic punk rock from Vallejo, CA. With thoughtful, yet sometimes simplistic lyrics. We just make music that we want to make, and hopefull
We, the Have-Nots, of V-Town, do hereby play fast, moderately melodic, rock music that is most commonly referred to as "punk". We have appeared on numerous compilations, and have a 14-song "Self-Untitled" CD available. We also appeared on the soundtrack to the video game 'Motoracer 2', and can be seen in the movie 'Trekkies 2' (performing under the name No Kill I: Deep Space Nine) We are from Vallejo, CA, in the northeast San Francisco bay area. We have shared members with other local bands such as Bottomdawg, Eskapo, Downward Hierarchy, Static Thought, and Exit Wounds. We have been around since the mid-90's.

Story behind the song
It's about my feeling that, although, in the animal kingdom, it is the law of "survival of the fittest", we, as humans, should not use things like physical strength and other physical attributes to choose our mates. We should, instead, use characteristics such as intelligence and personality as the selection mechanism for this process. Needless to say, I wrote it when I was in my late teens, and couldn't get a girlfriend... Well, that was the genesis of the idea behind the song. But it turned out to be more of a general statement against the social-Darwinistic tendencies of our society at large. I just don't agree with the belief that those who have are just better, or harder working, or more righteous, or more deserving, or more whatever than those who have-not. Sometimes a person's circumstances, and other societal factors, keeps them from even being in a position to achieve his or her maximum potential. Not me, though. I'm just lazy. I mean, I come from a lower working-class family, not too far above poverty levels. My parents, to this day, have never owned a home. I have other family worse off than that! But, I could have worked harder, applied my intellect, etc. and have a lot more wealth today if I'd wanted to. But, I'm lazy, and am not all that motivated by material posessions. I like to make music. And read, and write, and watch good movies and tv shows, and play games (video or other, like chess), and I like to do other stuff that also has no relevency on this topic. Not that anything else in the last few paragraphs has...
Lyrics
Survival of the fittest, this is nature's way The strongest win, the weakest lose, the right to prevail But how does this apply, to our world today? Is it intelligence that chooses if we win or fail? What really seperates us from what has come before? Are we the same as those neandertholic ones? No. Do we still judge each other, by who can be the best? Or have we learned anything yet? There's all this talk about wanting brains over the brawn Well, I have yet to see the proof I look around and I see all that's going on I wonder if anyone will ever see the truth What people say and what they really want I've found are not always the same Eons of progress have yet to change the hunt The strongest still win the game
