A blues tune, that references (and steals a few lyrics) from Jelly Roll Morton's 'Sidewalk Blues'.
blues 1970s pop
The "AJPeace Project", my first ever adventures in music. An adolescents imaginary bands first album recreated by the magic of todays technolgy.
In the late 1960's into the early 1970's I was a teenager, still in school and clueless about what to do with my life. I had yet to learn guitar but spent hours in the front room playing on the family upright piano. In my imagination I was in a band called "The AJ Peace Project". For some reason I thought the most important recording label in the world was United Artists. With biro in hand I created their first platinum selling album. All these decades later (and with help from ai) this is my attempt to reimagine what that band may have sounded like if countless dollars and the talent of actual producers had been poured into these dreams! It is hopelessly naive and disconnected, but as these songs have played in my head for over 50 years it was tme for their excorcism. So I proudly present the world famous band "THE AJ PEACE PROJECT"

Story behind the song
I had piano lessons as a kid with a lovely lady called Miss Nancy Chell. She was not a fan of blues music, but I did purchase myself a sheet music book of 'Jelly Roll Morton's Blues and Stomps". My sight reading and piano ability were limited, (still are lol) but I did get enough musical ideas to patch together this very sanatised blues ditty that seemed authentic to my teenage ears. A grand track for the 'AJ Peace Project' to perform'
Lyrics
Taste Em Blues Adrian J Pratt 1970 I got the blues and I sure got them bad Meanest old blues I ever had. My mind is weary everything is wrong Some days seem nine years long I arise in the morning for the day Heart Breaking sets in right away Haunts me like a shadow haunts a tree Even taste blues in my coffee I go to work each and every day Dismal blues set in right way Chase me like wasps after jam Feel like telling them to scram Taste Those Blues. [Instrumental] Friends of mine tell me why am I blue? Why can't I be happy just like you? It isn't because I do not try For my sake please tell me why! [Instrumental] Taste Those Blues.
