Note about the "2025/2026 Remixes." Since I don't currently have the resources to book studio time or musicians, I am polishing my old demos in Suno. I'm doing my best to keep Suno from making alterations to my compositions, and succeeding about two thirds of the time, but it is an uphill battle. For the sake of transparency, I am making an effort to delineate all of the (usually very slight) alterations Suno has made to the recordings, but it will take a while. In the meantime, once you've heard a "remix" to hear how I want the song to sound, you may want to scroll down to the original demo, which, in a few cases, will be a better representation of how the song _goes_. Until I've finished those notes, I can tell you that everything except "Celestial Street" (which goes off the rails at about the 3:30 mark) is close to identical to my original compositions, with tiny changes in chord voicings (i.e. choice of inversions, etc.) or slight interpretations of the melody that any singer would make in a cover version anyway. ====== I am what you might call a musical generalist. I listen to pretty much everything and I compose in pretty much any style, though I concentrate mainly on folk, folk-rock, rock, synth-pop, alternative, comedy, musical theatre, jazz, new-age, film music, avant-garde, and the occasional lullaby (why sing your kid to sleep with "Rock-a-bye Baby" when you can can create something personalized?). I've done most of my professional (i.e. paid) work in the theatre, where I've been musical director for dozens of productions. I was also musical director of Mental Floss, the legendary Miami improv group, for over 500 performances; I recently did a stint with Laughing Gas, which rose from the ashes of Mental Floss 11 years ago to become the longest running improv group in South Florida. As a singer-songwriter, I've concentrated most of my energy on my signature style of synth-driven folk-rock (sort of Indigo Girls meets Vangelis). I'm also something of a minor celebrity in the world of Filk (folk music for science fiction fans), where I am proud to be the object of the worlds smallest international fan base.

Lyrics
[verse] Girlfriends talk a lot, but they don't see eye to eye When the lens fogs over, and the poem doesn't rhyme A talk about your history is the leading edge of a knife 'Cause the good things happen quietly And you're apt to deny where your politics lie When you're fighting for your life [verse] Girlfriends grow apart, but the center stays in place It hovers 'round your love affairs, and it is not fixed in space A slow fade from childhood is the image you recall A scene played out in black and white On a roll of film exposed to light 'Til there's nothing there at all [bridge] Oh, I'm alright It's just that I think I really wanna be alone at night Oh, send me one more Postcard from your latest port of call I'll send you all my reviews, I think you'll be amused 'Cause they didn't like the wedding shot But the still life was okay And I've still got that apartment if you need a place to stay It's just as well, I hardly ever sleep there anyway Oh, I'm okay [middle 8] Once there was a stranger who fell into my life She was hitching in the rain, so I took her for a ride She said she was a dancer I said that I was not And I let her move in for a while When I said she had the sofa, she almost seemed to doubt Then she touched me, and I had to say what it was all about And nothing more was said Nothing more was done And we went to sleep for the night The moral of the story is never clear to see It's like looking for a raindrop in the middle of the sea And the words that seem familiar are the words you never speak But they're always there in your mind: [outro] Come to me Stay with me Be my friend, never leave Let me be, free me Stay in the light Don't move Stay in the light Don't move Stay in the light Don't move... Stay in the light
