Artist picture
20 years deep in the craft - raw bars, real stories, and soul-driven hip-hop straight from the hills of West Virginia
I’m an underground rapper from Morgantown, WV, and I’ve been rapping, writing, and producing albums for over 20 years. My name’s a throwback to hip-hop’s roots when "def" meant excellent and an MC was more than just a rapper; he was a storyteller and a presence. My sound draws inspiration from East Coast artists like Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, and Lupe Fiasco. At the end of the day, I’m just here to make meaningful music that cuts through the noise and tells my story.

Lyrics
Pretend the dead ain't here, and who ain't here is dead It's jump cut, jump cut - static in my head 'Cause where I grew up, the oil clouded in that water Mixed with abrasives to treat that brass Clay rose from the ground in the railroad tracks Kids swim in dirty water from that chemical plant Made mud pies with neighbor kids We grew apart, they got drug habitats I see their pictures - it make me sad It hurt to face it, I try not to let it phase me But there's something 'bout this place that drive me crazy I tell myself that I'll return someday But it has changed, and so haven't I I guess I can't, but the memories, they never die Like riding bikes on the old gravel road by the coal mines Or pinecone wars that left bruises on my sides Late night, sneaking out girls in my mom's ride (I'm sorry, mom) It make me want to be alone in these thoughts And cut away from this world for a minute, without the talk Without the rap, without this need to act tough And for a moment, being me is just enough
