Story behind the song
As human beings we depend on other people to be there for us, to support us, and to make us feel safe, without us having to ask for it. By doing this they give us a sense of control over our own lives. When it doesn't happen we feel lonely, lost and helpless; we fool ourselves into hoping that they will be there next time, even if past evidence suggests otherwise.
Lyrics
You said you'd be there for me always, never thought I'd have to ask. Take these broken dreams you've sold me, for gaining sanctity at last. From my dissaffected youth, I'm screaming for a change. Answers springing from the truth, its unlikely that, if I try again tommorrow, will things still be the same? Or can I find a better way? Just another endless story, when we're all vying for control. Of everything inside a heartbeat, but still we don't want to let go.
