Christ centered songs written by Dan Simmons...the best Gospel and inspirational A.I. music on the internet!
"firesong" is the songwriting ministry of Dan Simmons Thanks for stopping by. It's my desire to faithfully share that which has been given to me. This website will be a sampling of recordings that I, along with family and friends, have done over past 45 years. There are over 600 original unpublished songs presented in demo form on this site. Special thanks go to my partners in music, my daughter Amber, son Ian and the guys of Single Heart (Gene, Bob, Chris, Marty and Tata) who joined me to sing praises to the Lord down through the years. I also wish to thank those co-writers and artists that have joined with me in developing new music the passed few years to share on this website. I'm now featuring AI (Artificial Intelligence) groups that I've developed to sing some of the songs. I hope it's evident to everyone... that though the melodies and harmonies, styles and singers may change... JESUS has always been and will always be...the Song! ...this music is one simple expression of a very thankful heart. (Dan is a retired firefighter and ordained minister)

Story behind the song
A new rendition of the first gospel song I ever wrote.
Lyrics
It was my sin that brought Him there and nailed Him to that tree... It was my pain that He would bear His stripes were meant for me... It was my guilt, my shameful blindness that brought Him to that place... Yet it was love, tender loving kindness that brought the fullness of His grace It was judgment and punishment that brought Him agony... I was condemned to die, bound up in chains when Jesus set me free.. Crucified in shame, hanging there on a cross between two thieves... He showed me just how much He cared, that day that Jesus died for me All the way up to Calvary, He walked there in my place... Every step up that mountain steep was a step of love and grace... As my Savior He died on that cruel and rugged tree... O, yes but it should have been me From His heaven from His holy throne, He came to bear my hell... Of such love and grace and mercy shown no tongue could ever tell... Someday I'll stand before Him and I'll see Him face to face... I will worship and adore Him for the day He took my place And all the way up to Calvary, He walked there in my place... Every step up that mountain steep was a step of love and grace... As my Savior He died on that cruel and rugged tree... O, yes but it should have been me Someday I'll stand before Him and I'll see Him face to face... I will worship and adore Him for the day He took my place
