alternative hiphop rap acid jazz beats holiday music
Instrumental Phunk is a hip-hop/jazz group that performs all types of music. IPh Productions are hip-hop beatmakers.
12 years ago a group of guys cut class to chill in the band room of Philly's High School for Engineering and Science. Little did we know that not going to class would set our lives on a common path-- the production and performance of dope hip-hop music. Since then, Instrumental Phunk has recorded a demo (1996) and an extra song (1997 and 1998), performed live, and now are delving into hip-hop production.

Story behind the song
This was the last song recorded on our original demo. It was the end of a 10 hour studio session. All Saturday long. I was tired, I know everyone else was also. We were glad that we did it. This was kind of like our sig out. Our studio farewell for that day. It's a fitting end because of it's mellow groove. It just reminds you of a sunset on a glorious hip-hop day. This is the only one of the original songs to be mastered professionally (da Illout [Original Mix] is the other). Between this and I-Phunk, people have said we remind them of the Roots circa 1995. The similarities are there and we love and respect those cats too. But listen carefully. We are not them. This is I-Phunk to the fullest. Check the very end of the song when Dave Diggy thought I wasn't paying attention. Truth is, I had dislodge my saxophone from around my neck and then bend down to speak into the mic. That took time especially when you have spit coming out of your mouth and horn. This was done live, one take. No overdubs or anything. Straight through. Being limited on cash will really get you going when it comes to studio time. Kre Z. Stylz on keys, Tommy on drums, Jazzman on sax. Ill, Stylz, and Teqniq on rhymes.
